The effect of Panax Ginseng on Plasma Concentrations of glucose and free fatty acids in the dog

Abstract
|
|
|
1) The influence of Panax Ginseng upon the plasma concentrations of glucose and free fatty acids (FFA) was investigated in the dog. Ethanol,-extract of Panax Ginseng was infused intravenously in doses of 1, 2 and 4 mg/kg/min for 60 min.
2) Panax Ginseng increases the plasma glucose, and lowers´, the concentration of plasma FFA.
3) Panax Ginseng potentiates epinephrine-induced hyperglycemia, and antagonizes the hyperlipemic effect of epinephrine.
